Headteachers welcome
Welcome to Horizons Academy Bexley, where every decision that we make is made with the best interests of the child in mind and focused on ensuring that all of our children and young people have the best possible experience whilst attending the school.
We do this by creating a positive learning environment, where each pupil feels safe and happy to contribute to the wider school community. We ensure that all pupils that attend Horizons Academy receive support to achieve their goals, whether that be towards positive outcomes at the end of Key stage 4 and successful transition into Year 12 or an opportunity to be re-integrated back into a mainstream or specialist setting.
We place an emphasis on the development of English, Maths and reading throughout the school because we recognise that these are the building blocks needed for our pupils to be successful both now and in the future but we also recognise the importance of developing the whole child by focusing on the Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) development of each pupil.
Across the school we have developed a wider curriculum which focuses on access to vocational lessons across our secondary provision whilst also embedding a variety of opportunities for our pupils to develop their Cultural capital through both internal and external activities throughout the school year.
Ultimately, we want all pupils to have an enriching experience, who feel confident about their futures and in their own ability to live a successful and prosperous life.
