KS3 programme
The aim of the Key Stage 3 (KS3) programme is to provide a short-term placement for KS3 pupils who are not succeeding in mainstream schools.
To make a referral, each school must complete a referral form providing evidence that a graduated approach has been taken to support pupils in school and a risk assessment and send these to horizonspanel@bexley.gov.uk. These must be submitted no later than the Thursday before each Horizons referral panel, which takes place fortnightly on a Wednesday afternoon. More details can be found here
If a pupil is offered a place on the KS3 programme, the parent/carer will be contacted to arrange a ‘Pre-admission’ meeting with the Head of Student Experience.
Ongoing school support is imperative during the child's time at Horizons Academy so that both the child and the school are ready for their return when the placement ends. We encourage schools to visit their pupils while they are at Horizons Academy and welcome the collaborative approach to supporting all children.
