About Us
Horizons Academy Bexley provides high-quality education and support for 117 pupils in Key Stages 1- 4, who have been permanently excluded from, or are at risk of permanent exclusion from their mainstream school.
We also provide short-term placements in our medical needs provision for pupils who have a current active CAMHS or paediatric consultant referral stating that they are not able to attend school at this time.
We focus on early intervention, offering a range of services from Outreach support, short term placements (KS1-3) or longer term placements for students in Key Stage 4.
Our aim in Key Stage 1–3 is to reintegrate the learners back into a mainstream or specialist school via our ‘Reintegration Programme’. We work closely with external agencies and our partner schools to identify the children's needs and develop an understanding of their barriers to learning so that, over time, we can identify the strategies that schools can take forward to help them be successful in the future.
Our aim in Year 11 is to support our young people in successfully transitioning into Year 12. We do this by providing access to a variety of GCSE subjects and vocational qualifications that provide a clear line of sight to the next steps of their educational journey.
On average (these figures fluctuate throughout the year);
- Over 50% of pupils are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM)
- 100% of pupils are K coded for SEMH
- 5% of pupils are LAC
