Curriculum overview

At Horizons Academy Bexley we have a created a ‘curriculum for destination’ to ensure our students are ready for their next stage, whether that be reintegration or transition. We focus on the skills or qualifications that students need to be a success.

The key to learning here is based upon the caring and trusting relationships that are built and we believe that every young person should have the opportunity to thrive. At the heart of everything we do, and what underpins our curriculum, are the following areas that we believe will enable our young people to achieve their potential.

Simply put, if students are given the space and tools to communicate effectively, with support focused on improving their access to the curriculum and their ability to build positive relationships then we firmly believe equity can be achieved through our educational provision regardless of their starting point or previous educational experience. We want to help level the playing field and enable our children to feel valued and supported by adopting our core values of C.A.R.E.
